GAHF promotes early detection, prevention, and treatment of health conditions that disproportionately affect women and children.
- Health awareness on cervical cancer, breast cancer, and reproductive health.
- Educational sessions on lifestyle-related diseases and preventive health practices.
- Special focus on Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) awareness for young women.
- Collaboration with Primary Health Care Agencies to strengthen community health outreach and screenings.
- Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Response
We provide confidential, survivor-centered support to women and girls who experience domestic or sexual violence.
- Counseling and psychosocial support to survivors.
- Payment of hospital bills for victims of sexual and domestic violence.
- Linkages to legal services and protective networks.
- Community sensitization on recognizing, reporting, and responding to violence.
Through these efforts, GAHF has supported scores of survivors to recover, rebuild confidence, and reintegrate into their communities
- Women’s Rights and Gender Equality
GAHF builds the capacity of women and girls to understand and assert their human rights through advocacy, community education, and mentorship.
- We train women on gender equality, leadership, and participation in community decision-making.
- We work with traditional and religious leaders to challenge harmful norms that perpetuate violence or discrimination.
- We run awareness campaigns to promote women’s voices and agency.
- Women’s Economic Empowerment
Recognizing that financial independence is central to women’s freedom, GAHF equips young women and survivors of violence with practical vocational skills, business training, and start-up support.
- Skill acquisition programs in tailoring, crafts, catering, and digital literacy.
- Financial literacy sessions on savings, budgeting, and business management.
To date, more than 1,500 young women have benefited from our empowerment programs, many of whom now run thriving small businesses and mentor other women.

Our Achievements (2020–2024)
- Reached 5,000+ women and children across North-Central Nigeria through direct services and advocacy.
- Supported over 400 survivors of domestic and sexual violence with counseling, health support, and safety planning.
- Trained 300+ community women as peer educators on reproductive health, domestic violence, and rights awareness.
- Conducted 50+ community health awareness campaigns on cervical cancer, PCOS, and maternal health.
- Empowered 1,500 young women through vocational and income-generation initiatives.
- Established strong working relationships with government health and social service structures.
